tickertext

2010

The tickertext project was a part of the Espace Recherche section of Congress 2010 hosted by Concordia University in the summer of 2010. The project converted the stock market LED board in the John Molson building foyer into an ever-changing research collage of short “ticker texts” contributed by Congress participants. It addresses the production and dissemination of new creative writing in relation to informing features of the historical stock ticker—text in motion, instantaneous telecommunication (transmitting messages across a distance), periodic updates and “telegraphic” brevity.

Developed the website as well as a custom software solution to program the RISE ticker installed in the lobby.

Concordia Journal article on the project, dated April 15, 2010.
